يَرْقُدُsleep النّاسُthe people آمنينَsecure وَرَيْبُwhile the vicissitudes of الدَّtime (first fragment)
يَرْقُدُ النّاسُ آمنينَ وَرَيْبُ الدَّ
هْرِtime (continuation) يَرْعاهُمُwatches them بِمُقْلَةِwith the eye of لِصَa thief
هْرِ يَرْعاهُمُ بِمُقْلَةِ لِصَ
People sleep secure, while the vicissitudes of
time watch them with a thief’s eye.
