وضَاحِكٍ عنْ بَرَدٍ مُشْرِقٍ

وضَاحِكٍ عنْ بَرَدٍ مُشْرِقٍ

ناجَيْتُهُ مِنْ بينِ جُلاَّسِي

ناجَيْتُهُ مِنْ بينِ جُلاَّسِي

And one whose smile revealed gleaming hail,

Smiling through the shining cold

I whispered to him from among my companions;

I spoke to him amongst my friends

فكُلّما قَبَّلْتُهُ خِفْتُ أَنْ

فكُلّما قَبَّلْتُهُ خِفْتُ أَنْ

يَذُوبَ مِنْ نيرانِ أَنْفَاسِي

يَذُوبَ مِنْ نيرانِ أَنْفَاسِي

so whenever I kissed him, I feared that

Each time I kissed him, I feared

he would melt from the fires of my breath.

He would melt from the fire of my breath
