أقسمتُ لو كاتبتُكم

I would write for you upon my cheek

I would have written on my cheek for you

with the blackness of my eye or my heart;

In the blackness of my eyes or heart

ولكان ذكركمُ يج

ولكان ذكركمُ يج

لُّ عَن الصَّحائِف والمِداد

لُّ عَن الصَّحائِف والمِداد

and remembrance of you would rise

And your memory would have shone

above pages and ink.
