صحةٌ في سلامةٍ ونعيمِ

صحةٌ في سلامةٍ ونعيمِ

وبقاءٌ في عزِّ مُلْكٍ مُقيمِ

وبقاءٌ في عزِّ مُلْكٍ مُقيمِ

Health amid safety and bliss,

Health in wellbeing, bliss

and long life in the glory of an enduring reign.

And existence in mighty kingdom’s honor abiding

طاب هذا الحَمّامُ واجتمع الحُس

طاب هذا الحَمّامُ واجتمع الحُس

This bathhouse is delightful, and beauty has gathered

This bathhouse prospered, and the good congregated

within it, throughout its design.

To it altogether in the division of rooms

فهْو مثْلُ العروسِ تُجْلَى على الأب

فهْو مثْلُ العروسِ تُجْلَى على الأب

صارِ زهوا في حُلَّةٍ من رَقيمِ

صارِ زهوا في حُلَّةٍ من رَقيمِ

It is like a bride unveiled before the eyes,

It’s like a bride displayed over gowns

proudly, in a robe of patterned cloth.

Of brocade, glimmering in a dress of fine silk

فيه حُسْنٌ بادٍ وحسن خَفِىٌّ

فيه حُسْنٌ بادٍ وحسن خَفِىٌّ

ليس يبدو إلا لكلِّ حكيم

ليس يبدو إلا لكلِّ حكيم

In it is visible beauty, and hidden beauty

In it evident beauty and hidden charm

revealed only to the wise.

Appearing only to every wise one

وشموسٌ قد جاورتْها بدور

وشموسٌ قد جاورتْها بدور

ونجومٌ لكنْ بغيرِ رُجوم

ونجومٌ لكنْ بغيرِ رُجوم

And suns with full moons beside them,

And suns neighboring it in cycles

and stars, but without missiles;

And stars but without shooting

وسيولٌ تَفيضِ بالحار والبا

وسيولٌ تَفيضِ بالحار والبا

رد لكنها بغير غيوم

رد لكنها بغير غيوم

and streams pouring forth hot and cold water,

And torrents overflowing with hot and cold

yet without clouds.

Yet without clouds

بخارٌ كأنه نكهة المَعْ

بخارٌ كأنه نكهة المَعْ

شوقِ في أنف عاشق محروم

شوقِ في أنف عاشق محروم

Steam, like the scent of the beloved’s breath

Steam like the savor of yearning

in the nose of a deprived lover.

In a deprived lover's breath

وطيورٌ تكاد تَشْدو ووحشٌ

وطيورٌ تكاد تَشْدو ووحشٌ

رُتَّعٌ في فواكهٍ وكُروم

رُتَّعٌ في فواكهٍ وكُروم

And birds that almost sing, and wild beasts

And birds almost singing and wild beasts

grazing amid fruits and vineyards.

Frolicking in fruits and vineyards

وقيان تكاد تُفْصِح بالإي

وقيان تكاد تُفْصِح بالإي

قاع بين الثقيل والمزموم

قاع بين الثقيل والمزموم

And singing slave girls, almost giving voice

And harbingers almost articulating in heavy and light tones

to rhythm, between thaqil and mazmum.

And ponds elegant and vibrant, revealing

وحياضٌ راقتْ ورقَّتْ فأبدتْ

وحياضٌ راقتْ ورقَّتْ فأبدتْ

كلَّ في ضِمْنِها مكتوم

كلَّ في ضِمْنِها مكتوم

And pools grown clear and translucent, revealing

All that's concealed within them

everything concealed within them.

You perfected it, oh Commander of the Faithful

كلمْته سعادةُ الآمِر المُحْ

كلمْته سعادةُ الآمِر المُحْ

ي بجَدْواهُ كلَّ بالٍ رَميم

ي بجَدْواهُ كلَّ بالٍ رَميم

The good fortune of al-Amir spoke to it—he who

With your efforts dispelling every defect

revives through his bounty all that is worn and decayed:

The Imam Mansur, may your subject

الإمامِ المنصور أكرمِ مخلو

الإمامِ المنصور أكرمِ مخلو

قٍ وقَولى على سبيل العموم

قٍ وقَولى على سبيل العموم

Imam al-Mansur, most generous of all created beings—

Be protected, and my words in generality

and I mean this universally.
