وقالوا يعود الماءُ للنهر بعد ما
خَلتْbecame empty منهof it آبارٌwells وجَفَّتْand dried up مَشْارعُهْits watering places
خَلتْ منه آبارٌ وجَفَّتْ مَشْارعُهْ
And they said, “The water will return to the river after

ويُنبتَand grow vegetation شَطّاهُits two banks تموتُwill die ضفادعهits frogs
ويُنبتَ شَطّاهُ تموتُ ضفادعه
So we said, “By the time the water returns once more
So we said, “By the time the water returns again
and makes its two banks sprout, its frogs will have died.”
and its two banks grow green, its frogs will have died.”
