غَيرَexcept أَنَّthat الصَيدَthe prey مِنهُمfrom among them
غَيرَ أَنَّ الصَيدَ مِنهُم
قَنَّعوهُthey cloaked him بِخَزايَهin disgrace
قَنَّعوهُ بِخَزايَه
Yet the prey among them
They cloaked in disgrace.
كَتَبواthey wrote الصَكَّthe writ عَلَيهِagainst him
كَتَبوا الصَكَّ عَلَيهِ
فَهوَso he is بَينَamong الناسِthe people آيَهa spectacle
فَهوَ بَينَ الناسِ آيَه
They drew up the writ against him,
So he is a spectacle among people.
فَإِذاand when أَقبَلَhe approaches يَوماًone day
فَإِذا أَقبَلَ يَوماً
قيلَit was said قَدalready جاءَhas come النُفايَهthe refuse
قيلَ قَد جاءَ النُفايَه
And when he comes along one day,
It is said, "The refuse has arrived."
