When a strong man strings the bow,
When the bow is strung taut by a strong hand,
He shoots, striking the kidneys and the heights;
It shoots to strike the vitals and the joints.
وَأَحياand he revived بِبَلدَتِهِwith his palm بَلدَةًa town

And with his palm he revives a town
And gives life to a land that had lain wasted,
Left desolate after stagnant water had effaced it.
After the rains had flooded it with plenty.
