وفي ارتكاب المعاصي

انفقت مدة عمري

And in committing sins

And in committing disobedience

I have spent the span of my life.

I spent the duration of my life

فأنت للعفو أهلٌ

فأنت للعفو أهلٌ

وأن تعظم وزري

وأن تعظم وزري

For You are worthy to grant pardon,

For You are worthy of forgiveness

Even if my burden of sin grows great.

And to magnify my burden

مالي سواك آلهٌ

مالي سواك آلهٌ

أرجوه إصلاح أمري

أرجوه إصلاح أمري

I have no god but You,

I have no one but You, O God

Whom I implore to set my affairs right.

I hope You will correct my affairs

لا تنظرنّ لفعلي

لا تنظرنّ لفعلي

فانظر لعجزي وفقري

فانظر لعجزي وفقري

Do not look upon my deeds;

Do not look at my deeds

Look instead upon my helplessness and my poverty.

But look at my incapacity and poverty

إني أسير ذنوبٍ

إني أسير ذنوبٍ

فاطلق بعفوك أسري

فاطلق بعفوك أسري

I am indeed a captive of sins;

I am a prisoner of sins

So, through Your pardon, release me from captivity.

So release my shackles with Your pardon

ويحي إذا لم تغثني

ويحي إذا لم تغثني

في موقف يوم حشري

في موقف يوم حشري

Woe to me if You do not come to my aid

Woe to me, if You do not save me

As I stand on the day I am gathered for judgment.

On the day I stand before You for judgement
