May I remain enamored of the rose throughout my life;

I'm still enamored with roses for so long

In it lie my eye’s delight and my spirit’s exhilaration.

In them is the delight of my eyes and the spread of my gaze

ومن تضرم أشواقي إليه إذا

ما غاب عن ناظري استغنيت بالعرق

ما غاب عن ناظري استغنيت بالعرق

And because my longings for it burn, whenever

And the one whose absence makes my longing for him kindle

It vanishes from my sight, I content myself with the distillate.

When he's gone from my sight, his fragrance suffices me
