لك الهنا يا من اضا في سما

عليائه كالقمر النيّر

Joy be yours, O you who shone in the sky

of your eminence, like the radiant moon,

برتبة غراء قد حزتها

قرينة النصر مدى الأدهر

with a splendid rank that you have attained,

paired with victory throughout the ages.

لا زلت ذا سعدٍ جديد وذا

مجدٍ مديدٍ للعلى مزهرِ

May you ever be endowed with fresh good fortune and with

enduring glory, blossoming for the heights.

قد قالت الأقلام لما روى

عنك الثنا الهندي والسمهري

Indeed, the pens declared, when it was recounted—

your praise—by the Indian sword and the Samhari lance,

بحسن تاريخٍ زهيٍ سما

محمدٌ رئاسة العسكر

in a fine, radiant chronogram: 'There rose

Muhammad to the command of the army.'
