لقد جمع المعشوق قلبي بنونه

لقد جمع المعشوق قلبي بنونه

وفي قلب قاف فاق فضلا بما وصف

وفي قلب قاف فاق فضلا بما وصف

Indeed, the beloved gathered my heart with his nūn.

My beloved has gathered my heart in his letter nun

And with qāf reversed, he excelled in the merit ascribed to him.

And in the qaf of his heart he has excelled in merit above description

وفي واوه خمس الحواس ترفّعت

وفي واوه خمس الحواس ترفّعت

وجرّ بلام البعد قلبا به ألف

وجرّ بلام البعد قلبا به ألف

And in his wāw, the five senses rose.

And in his waw the five senses were ennobled

And with the lām of distance, he dragged a heart that had grown fond of him.

And the lam of distance has dragged a heart that clings to him
