I stopped by a pond, clear as can be

Offering joy and contentment to whoever beholds it.

Bringing joy and delight to all who see

حفت به الأشجار وهي نواضرٌ

وتلفعت للحسن ثوباً أخضرا

وتلفعت للحسن ثوباً أخضرا

The trees surround it, fresh and flourishing,

Surrounded by trees, blossoms abound

And have wrapped themselves in a green robe for beauty.

In splendid green robes, beauty is found

فكأنه المرآة وهي عرائسٌ

فكأنه المرآة وهي عرائسٌ

ينظرنَ أيتهنَّ أجمل منظرا

ينظرنَ أيتهنَّ أجمل منظرا

So it is like a mirror, and they are brides,

Like a mirror it is, with maidens around

Looking to see which of them is fairest to behold.

Gazing to see which one is most profound
