  1. كأن خديه ديناران قد وزنا

    فحرر الصيرفي الوزن واحتاطا

    As though his cheeks were two dinars that had been weighed,

    and the money-changer checked the weight precisely and took care;

  2. فشح بعضهما عن وزن صاحبه

    فزاده من فتيت المسك قيراطاً

    but one fell short of its companion’s weight,

    so he added to it a carat of powdered musk.
