بحبيب القلوب معتمد الحلـ

ـقِ أبي القاسم النبيِّ الشفيعِ

ـقِ أبي القاسم النبيِّ الشفيعِ

Through the beloved of hearts, the mainstay of creation,

By the beloved of hearts, the trusted intercessor

Abu al-Qasim, the Prophet, the intercessor,

O Abu Al-Qasim, the Prophet, the interceding advocate

قد تشفعت من ذنوبي إلى ذي الـ

قد تشفعت من ذنوبي إلى ذي الـ

ـعزةِ الواحد العليِّ السميع

ـعزةِ الواحد العليِّ السميع

I have sought intercession for my sins with the Possessor of

I have sought intercession from you for my sins to the Almighty

might, the One, the Most High, the All-Hearing.

The One, the Exalted, the All-Hearing

فأشفع اشفع يا خاتم الرسل يوم الـ

فأشفع اشفع يا خاتم الرسل يوم الـ

ـحشر والمشهد العظيم الفظيع

ـحشر والمشهد العظيم الفظيع

So intercede, intercede, O Seal of the Messengers, on the Day of the

So intercede, intercede, O Seal of the Messengers, on the day

Gathering and the great, dreadful assembly,

Of the Greatest Gathering and the Momentous Scene

لظلومٍ لنفسهِ قد تناهَى

لظلومٍ لنفسهِ قد تناهَى

في الخطايا وكلِّ فعلٍ شنيع

في الخطايا وكلِّ فعلٍ شنيع

for one grievously unjust to himself, who has gone to extremes

For one who has wronged himself, having exceeded

in sins and every heinous deed.

In sins and every abhorrent deed

فإذا ما تذكَّر الذنب فاضت

فإذا ما تذكَّر الذنب فاضت

مقلتاه واغرورقت بالدموعِ

مقلتاه واغرورقت بالدموعِ

Whenever he remembers his sin, they overflow—

Whenever he remembers his sin, his eyelids overflow

his two eyes—and well up with tears.

And are tearful

لا تخيب رجاءه إنه من

لا تخيب رجاءه إنه من

ربِّه خائف كثيرُ الخشوع

ربِّه خائف كثيرُ الخشوع

Do not disappoint his hope, for he is

Do not disappoint his hope, for he is

fearful of his Lord, full of reverent humility.

Fearful of his Lord, oft turning to Him in humility

وعليك الصلاة بدءاً وعوداً

وعليك الصلاة بدءاً وعوداً

ما أضاءت ذكاءُ عند الطلوع

ما أضاءت ذكاءُ عند الطلوع

And blessings be upon you, at first and ever anew,

And upon you be prayers continuously

as long as Dhukāʾ, the sun, shines at its rising.

As long as the morning light shines
