I offer peace as a greeting

I send peace as a greeting

to my brother in fellowship, Abu al-ʿAlāʾ.

to my brother of brotherhood, Abul Ala

وأقول إني عندما

وأقول إني عندما

يدريه من عهد الوفاءِ

يدريه من عهد الوفاءِ

And I say: I stand by what

And I say that when

he knows of the pledge of fidelity.

he knows me from the era of loyalty

وجوابه قد سار قبـ

ـل محمّلاً طيب الثناء

ـل محمّلاً طيب الثناء

And his reply has already gone be-

فليسأل القاضي العما

دَ أخا الجلالة والسناء

let him ask the judge al-ʿImā-

Then let him ask the pillar judge
