تمنَّى حُمَيدُ أن يلاقيَ قَرحتي

تمنَّى حُمَيدُ أن يلاقيَ قَرحتي

على صاعد يعدو كَعَدوِ المُضَمَّرِ

على صاعد يعدو كَعَدوِ المُضَمَّرِ

Ḥumayd wished to meet my Qarḥa,

Humeid wished that he would meet my wounds

Mounted on Ṣāʿid, galloping like a conditioned steed.

On the ascent running like concealed intention

تخيرتُه خيلي وخيلَ فوارس

يردُّون في الهيجا على كل محجِرِ

يردُّون في الهيجا على كل محجِرِ

I chose him from my horses and the horses of horsemen

I chose him as my stead and the steeds of horsemen

Who rally in battle to every hard-pressed man.

Who charge in the battle against each warrior
