لمّا توازَوا علينا قال صاحبُنا
رَوْضُmeadow of الكَرِيَّةِal-Kariyyah غَالَdestroyed الحَيَّthe clan أوor زُفَرُZufar
رَوْضُ الكَرِيَّةِ غَالَ الحَيَّ أو زُفَرُ
When they arrayed themselves against us, our companion said:
When they drew up against us, our companion said:
“Rawḍ al-Kariyya has doomed the clan—or rather, Zufar has.”
Al-Kariyyah’s meadow has destroyed the clan—or Zufar has.
