يا سَوأَةً يُكثِرُ الشَيطانُ إِن ذُكِرَت

يا سَوأَةً يُكثِرُ الشَيطانُ إِن ذُكِرَت

مِنها التَعَجُّبَ جاءَت مِن سُلَيمانا

مِنها التَعَجُّبَ جاءَت مِن سُلَيمانا

O disgrace! If it is mentioned, Satan expresses

O evil one, Satan rejoices whenever you are mentioned

Much amazement at it—it came from Sulayman.

It came from Solomon, to express wonder at you

لا تَعجَبَنَّ لِخَيرٍ زالَ مِن يَدِهِ

لا تَعجَبَنَّ لِخَيرٍ زالَ مِن يَدِهِ

فَكَوكَبُ النَحسِ يَسقي الأَرضَ أَحيانا

فَكَوكَبُ النَحسِ يَسقي الأَرضَ أَحيانا

Do not marvel at good that has left his hand,

Do not be astonished at the good that has departed from your hand

For the star of ill omen sometimes waters the earth.

For the star of misfortune waters the earth sometimes
