وَغَلا عَلَيكَ طِلابُهُ

وَغَلا عَلَيكَ طِلابُهُ

وَالدُرُّ يُترَكُ في غَلائِه

وَالدُرُّ يُترَكُ في غَلائِه

And seeking it has grown too costly for you;

His seekers have become too demanding,

And the pearl is forsaken because of its high price.

While pearls are left in their shells.

وَإِذا تَعَرَّضَ في الحُل

وَإِذا تَعَرَّضَ في الحُل

يِ ثَنى فُؤادَكَ بِاِنثِنائِه

يِ ثَنى فُؤادَكَ بِاِنثِنائِه

And when it appears in jewel-

And if he appears undefended,

ry, it sways your heart with its swaying.

He will bend your heart by his plight.
