وتَأخُذُهُ عِندَ المَكارِمِ لِذَّةٌ

وتَأخُذُهُ عِندَ المَكارِمِ لِذَّةٌ

كَما اِهتَزَّ تَحتَ البارِحِ الغُصُنُ الرَطبُ

كَما اِهتَزَّ تَحتَ البارِحِ الغُصُنُ الرَطبُ

And delight seizes him at noble deeds,

And when virtues call he feels a thrill

Just as the supple branch swayed beneath the hot wind.

As when last night the supple bough did sway
