وَكاشِحٍ مُعرِضٍ عَني هَمَمتُ بِهِ

وَكاشِحٍ مُعرِضٍ عَني هَمَمتُ بِهِ

ثُمَّ اِرعَوَيتُ وَقُلتُ الناسُ بِالناسِ

ثُمَّ اِرعَوَيتُ وَقُلتُ الناسُ بِالناسِ

And an ill-wisher who shunned me—I contemplated harming him;

I sought a foe insistent in disdain,

Then I checked myself and said, “People depend on people.”

Then looked around and said: all people are alike!
