يَكونُ الخالُ في خَدٍّ نَقِيٍّ

يَكونُ الخالُ في خَدٍّ نَقِيٍّ

فَيُكسِبُهُ المَلاحَةَ وَالجَمالا

فَيُكسِبُهُ المَلاحَةَ وَالجَمالا

A beauty spot lies on a clear cheek,

A mole on a pure cheek

and so lends it charm and beauty,

Gives it charm and beauty

وَيُؤنِقُهُ لِأَعيُنِ مُبصِريهِ

وَيُؤنِقُهُ لِأَعيُنِ مُبصِريهِ

فَكَيفَ إِذا رَأَيتَ اللَونَ خالا

فَكَيفَ إِذا رَأَيتَ اللَونَ خالا

and makes it pleasing to the eyes of its beholders—

And makes it lovely in the eyes of beholders

what, then, if you saw the whole complexion as a beauty spot?

So imagine when you see the color itself as a mole
