منwhoever زارَvisits مُنْقَطِعَsevered from العَلائِقِattachments حِيشَاHisha
من زارَ مُنْقَطِعَ العَلائِقِ حِيشَا
يَغْدواbecomes بأصنافِby the kinds of العَطاbounty مَدْهوشاastounded
يَغْدوا بأصنافِ العَطا مَدْهوشا
Whoever visits Hisha, free of attachments,
will be astounded by the many kinds of bounty.
عَمِّيmy paternal uncle عَلِيٌّAli مَدَّspread فيin ساحاتِهاits courtyards
عَمِّي عَلِيٌّ مَدَّ في ساحاتِها
منهُfrom himself بِساطاًa carpet للنَّداfor generosity مَفْروشاspread out
منهُ بِساطاً للنَّدا مَفْروشا
My uncle Ali spread within its courtyards
a carpet of his own, laid out for generosity.
وأقامَand he raised منfrom طَوْرِthe Mount of العِنايةِProvidence فَوْقَهُabove it
وأقامَ من طَوْرِ العِنايةِ فَوْقَهُ
وَجهاًa face بأنوارِwith the lights of الفُيوضِspiritual outpourings بَشوشاbeaming
وَجهاً بأنوارِ الفُيوضِ بَشوشا
And from the Mount of Providence he raised above it
a face beaming with the lights of spiritual outpourings.
كمhow often أصْلَحَتْset right باللهthrough God نَفْحَةُa breath from قَلْبِهِhis heart
كم أصْلَحَتْ بالله نَفْحَةُ قَلْبِهِ
قَلْباًa heart بِسوءِby the evil of ضَميرِهits inner intent مَغْشوشاtainted
قَلْباً بِسوءِ ضَميرِه مَغْشوشا
How often, through God, has a breath from his heart healed
a heart tainted by its own evil intent!
أهْدَيْتُهُI offered him دينارَthe dinar of نَظْميmy verse جَيِّداًfine
أهْدَيْتُهُ دينارَ نَظْمي جَيِّداً
بِرُقومِwith the markings of سِرِّthe secret of جُدودِهِhis forefathers مَنْقوشاengraved
بِرُقومِ سِرِّ جُدودِهِ مَنْقوشا
I offered him the fine dinar of my verse,
engraved with the markings of his forefathers' secret.
أناI ضامِنٌa guarantor of وَصَلَthe joining of الحِبالِthe cords لِخالِصٍfor a sincere person
أنا ضامِنٌ وَصَلَ الحِبالِ لِخالِصٍ
قدhas زارَvisited مُنْقَطعَsevered from العَلائِقِattachments حِيشَاHisha
قد زارَ مُنْقَطعَ العَلائِقِ حِيشَا
I guarantee the joining of the cords for a sincere soul
who has visited Hisha, free of attachments.
