للقلْبِ من حُكمِ الهَوى

للقلْبِ من حُكمِ الهَوى

نحْوَ الحبيبِ بَواعثُ

نحْوَ الحبيبِ بَواعثُ

The heart, under the sway of love,

The heart has its own logic in love

has impulses toward the beloved.

That urges it toward the beloved

ولهُ بِطارقَةِ الخَفا

ولهُ بِطارقَةِ الخَفا

مِمَّا يُعاني عابِثُ

مِمَّا يُعاني عابِثُ

And through a visitation of the unseen, it has

And it has its own covert ways

one who toys with it amid what it endures.

To endure the torment it faces

يَمضي على عهدِ الحبي

يَمضي على عهدِ الحبي

بِ ولنْ يُغاثَ النَّاكثُ

بِ ولنْ يُغاثَ النَّاكثُ

It holds to the beloved's covenant,

It keeps the covenant of love

and the covenant-breaker will not be aided.

And no traitor will find salvation

عهْدُ المُوَلَّهِ دينُهُ

عهْدُ المُوَلَّهِ دينُهُ

لم يَلْفِتَنْهُ نافِثُ

لم يَلْفِتَنْهُ نافِثُ

The love-bewildered one's covenant is his faith;

The covenant of the devoted one is his faith

no spell-blower has turned him aside.

No deceiver could make him waver

وبكلِّ عصرٍ خيرُ مَنْ

وبكلِّ عصرٍ خيرُ مَنْ

يَرعى العُهودَ الوارِثُ

يَرعى العُهودَ الوارِثُ

And in every age, the best of those

In every era, the best person

who honor covenants is the inheritor.

Is one who keeps the inherited covenants
