أقولُ للرَّكبِ الذي جدَّ السرى

أقولُ للرَّكبِ الذي جدَّ السرى

وطار حين طيبة الأُنس وفا

وطار حين طيبة الأُنس وفا

I say to the caravan that hastened through the night,

I say to the caravan that hastened its pace

And flew when it reached Ṭaybah of fellowship:

And flew when companionship was sweet and plentiful

رفقاً بشهبِ العيسِ فلتمرح فذي

رفقاً بشهبِ العيسِ فلتمرح فذي

مدينةُ الله وهذا المصطفى

مدينةُ الله وهذا المصطفى

Be gentle with the gray-white camels; let them frolic, for this is

Gently, gently with this frail one, let her frolic as she will

God’s city, and this is the Chosen One.

For this is the city of God and His Chosen One
