كمhow often رُجَّتِwas shaken الأَرضُthe earth بالأَعْداءِby the enemies واضْطَرَبَتْand trembled

وعزمُناand our resolve ثابِتٌsteadfast ماnot مسَّهُtouched it وَجَلُfear
وعزمُنا ثابِتٌ ما مسَّهُ وَجَلُ
How often the earth has been shaken by enemies and trembled!
How the earth quaked with foes and was troubled,
And our resolve is steadfast; no fear has touched it.
Yet our purpose remained steadfast, untouched by fear and dread.
وكيفَand how يخْشىfears منfrom الأَعْداءِthe enemies صادِعَةًa shattering blow
وكيفَ يخْشى من الأَعْداءِ صادِعَةً

And how could he fear a shattering blow from enemies—
How can the clashing of arms terrify one
He whose forefather is Ahmad, the heroic sheikh of humankind?
Whose grandsire is Ahmad, the brave sheikh of all mankind?
