1. يا أَيُّها الناكِثُ في عَهدِهِ

    قَد عَلِمَ اللَهُ مَنِ الخاسِرُ

    O you who break your pledge,

    God indeed knows who the loser is.

  2. وا أَسَفي اليَومَ عَلى صُحبَةٍ

    يَتعَبُ فيها القَلبُ وَالخاطِرُ

    Alas, I grieve today over a companionship

    in which the heart and mind grow weary.

  3. وَاللَهِ ما فيكَ وَلا خِصلَةٌ

    مَحمودَةٌ يَذكُرُها الذاكِرُ

    By God, there is not a single trait in you

    worthy of praise for anyone to mention.

  4. يا أَيُّها المُسرِفُ في تيهِهِ

    وَحَقِّ عَينَيكَ لِذا آخِرُ

    O you who go too far in your arrogance,

    by the sanctity of your eyes, this has an end.

  5. ظَلَمتَني إِذ لَم أَجِد ناصِراً

    وا حَسرَتي مِن أَينَ لي ناصِرُ

    You wronged me when I found no defender.

    Alas, my anguish! Where can I find a defender?

  6. ما تَظهَرُ القُدرَةُ مِن قادِرٍ

    إِلّا إِذا قابَلَهُ قادِرُ

    A powerful person's power is not revealed

    unless another powerful person confronts him.

  7. غَدَرتَ بي بَعدَ عُهودٍ جَرَت

    يَكفيكَ قَولُ الناسِ يا غادِرُ

    You betrayed me after pledges had been made;

    it is enough for you that people say, 'You traitor!'

  8. فَعَلتَ فِعلاً غَيرَ مُستَحسَنٍ

    مالَكَ فيهِ أَحَدٌ شاكِرُ

    You did a deed that was not commendable;

    no one is grateful to you for it.
