Is this a letter from a learned man
A book from one virtuous
who spoke, then spoke at length,
He spoke words, so fluently
أَمor أَزاهِيرُblossoms رَوضَةٍof a garden

or blossoms of a garden
Or flowers of a garden

Ruffled by the hand of the breeze
قُلتُI said لَمّاwhen رَأَيتُهُI saw it

When I saw it, I said,
When I saw it I said
“Welcome, then welcome again!”
Welcome, again welcome
ثُمَّthen لَمّاwhen قَرَأتُهُI read it
هَزَّit stirred عِطفيmy side تَطَرُّباwith delight
Then, when I read it,
Then when I read it
it set my body swaying with delight,
My shoulders swayed joyfully
وَتَوَهَّمتُand I imagined أَنَّهُthat it

and I imagined that it
And I imagined that it
had restored to me the freshness of youth.
Returned to me the spirit of youth
