إِلىuntil كَمhow long فُرقَتيmy separation وَكَمِand how long اِرتِحاليmy journeying
إِلى كَم فُرقَتي وَكَمِ اِرتِحالي
فَلاso not أَشكوI complain لِغَيرِto anyone other than اللَهِGod حاليmy plight
فَلا أَشكو لِغَيرِ اللَهِ حالي
How long will my separation last, and how long my journeying?

Nor did my heart freely leave home
وَماand not عَيشُthe life الغَريبِthe stranger بِلاwithout عِيالِa family
