ماhow أَصعَبَhard الحاجَةَthe need لِلناسِfor people
ما أَصعَبَ الحاجَةَ لِلناسِ
فَالغُنمُfor the gain مِنهُمfrom them راحَةُthe solace الياسِdespair
فَالغُنمُ مِنهُم راحَةُ الياسِ
How hard it is to need people!
For the gain from them is the solace of despair.
لَمdid not يَبقَremain فيamong الناسِpeople مُواسٍa comforter لِمَنfor one who
لَم يَبقَ في الناسِ مُواسٍ لِمَن
يُظهِرُvoices شَكواهُhis complaint وَلاnor آسِa healer
يُظهِرُ شَكواهُ وَلا آسِ
No comforter remains among people for one
who voices his complaint, nor any healer.
وَبَعدَand after ذاthis ماnot لَكَfor you عَنهُمfrom them غِنىًindependence
وَبَعدَ ذا ما لَكَ عَنهُم غِنىً
لاno بُدَّescape لِلناسِfor people مِنَfrom الناسِpeople
لا بُدَّ لِلناسِ مِنَ الناسِ
And despite this, you cannot do without them:
People cannot do without people.
