Those generous to him with lands not their own,
The generous ones have a country other than theirs
They are generous with lands not their own, yet stingy with them towards the weak.
Those who withhold them from the weak,
The stingy ones withhold it from the weak
Those capable of usurping you by force; so today the people have risen from slumber.

By those able to seize you by force—
Those capable of taking you by force
O people, it is not Jerusalem alone that complains of the horror of wounds from the reckless hand.
So today the people rose from slumber.
So today, the people have awakened from slumber
Your wound remains bleeding and gushing, despite the end of the savage strike.

هول الجراح من اليد الرعناء
O people, Jerusalem is not alone in lamenting
O people, not only Jerusalem complains
The free man is far too noble to seek in tears a relief from his agony.
The horror of wounds from the reckless hand.
Of the pain from the vulgar hand
For judgment belongs to blood and the drawn sword, and to war, not to the silent tear.

Your wound still bleeds and gushes,
Your wound still bleeds while it's open
Victory belongs to the people who do not bend from their resolve and the fierce assault.
Though the deep, gaping thrust has ended.
Despite the cruel stab healing
Drive out the tyrants with every sharp edge; nothing wipes away shame like their expulsion.

The free man aims too high to see
The free man sees the farthest goal
Until I see you satisfied and content, free despite the blue eyes of the foe.
In tears relief from anguish.
Is not easing the pain through tears
And I see the land as a blooming garden, its sons protected by one another.

For the verdict belongs to blood and the drawn weapon,
Judgement is for blood, the awaited weapon
And Jerusalem inhabited by every free soul, radiant in all parts through those who toil.
And to war—not to the mute tear.
And war not for the silent tear
O people, call out to every heedless sleeper, blind to the misery Jerusalem tastes.

Victory for the unyielding people
The enemies enacted no freedom therein, save to cripple a hand and spill blood.
From their resolve and their fearsome onslaught.
In their resolve and valiant clamor
What use is your paradise that you have cultivated, when fire surrounds the verdant garden?

Expel the tyrants with every keen blade;
Death to tyrants in every harsh way
O my oppressed people, this is a stand where the loyal are distinguished from the chameleon.
Nothing wipes away dishonor like expulsion.
To remove disgrace like moths
Why is it that your kin, standing alone, fear not the might of blind force?

Every absent group chants 'Long live liberation,' distracted from the day of true struggle.
Free despite the blue eyes;
Free despite the blue eyes
While tomorrow belongs to the sacrifice of the toilers, the bearers of that black insignia.
