لأيفاء ما اسديت هيهات يقدر
A thousand tongues have come to you in thanks;
A thousand tongues have come to thank you
A thousand tongues have come to you with thanks,
yet they could never repay what you have bestowed.
For the kindness you have shown, but who can fully appreciate it?
Yet to repay what you have bestowed, they can hardly suffice.

بعثت حيلة من رداها و نفضت

أياديك عنها كل ما كان يوقر
You revived a stratagem from its ruin, and shook off
You devised a plan to restore things from ruin
You revived a life from its destruction and shook off,
with your hands all that had weighed upon it.
And lifted your hands from it, removing all that had oppressed
With your hands, every burden that weighed it down.

أعدت لها البعل الذي كاد يقبر
May God reward you with goodness on behalf of a mother of children;
May God reward you for restoring a widow's son
May God reward you with good on behalf of a mother,
you restored to her the husband who was almost buried.
And providing for him a husband who was nearly buried
To whom you returned the husband who was nearly in his grave.

Thus, through your bounty, the orphans gained a father.
So the orphans through your generosity have fathers again
So the orphans, through your bounty, now possess a father,
May the father, ransomed by pearls and jewels, be your ransom.
May the Father who ransomed them reward you, treasure and jewel
May that father be your ransom, with pearls and jewels as the price.

I walk, and the sun's rising light clothes my brow;
I walk with the rising sun shining on my brow
I walk, and the rising sun adorns my brow,
and my prayer rises: may God always grant you victory.
So my prayer rises - you have shaded me in God's protection
While my prayer ascends: May you remain victorious through God.

Are you not the one who brought life, as his people rose
Are you not the one who revived though your people had rebelled,
Are you not he who gave life when his people rose up,
and cried out in joy because of him: 'God is greatest!'?
So they shouted "God is great" in joy for Him?
And cried out in jubilation: Allahu Akbar?

And the stricken, crippled man rose from his bed,
The wounded Christ rose from his bed
And the afflicted cripple rose up from his bed,
walking on one leg, running and leaping.
Walking on a leg, running and leaping
Walking upon his legs, running and leaping.

You charged ahead though death and years
You stormed the dens of death and lightning,
moaned, and thousands of devils whistled.
Moaned and thousands of demons hissed
While they groaned, and thousands of devils hissed.

It was but a strike of vengeance, and then cleared away,
a darkness of affliction, while Baghdad looked on.
Darkness of affliction cleared, and Baghdad watched
The darkness of tribulation, while Baghdad watched.

Whoever sees Baghdad, whose light you are,

So whoever sees Baghdad, of which you are the light,
says: 'Harun has returned, and Ja'far has died.'
Says, "Harun has returned," though Ja'far died
Would say: Harun has returned, and Ja'far is dead.

You avenged Shawwaf and showered Nazim
You avenged the poets and rained on their composer
You took vengeance for Shawwaf, and rained down upon Nazim,
with what quenched the grave that was nearly buried.
What had wet the grave which almost buried him
That which quenched the grave that was nearly obliterated.

And Qasim raised a barrier of buffoonery;
And you silenced the racket, climbing over Qasim
And Qasim blocked the height of buffoonery,
he was not as his name implied, for he splits in two.
For you are like your name, a splitter
Yet he was not true to his name, for he only divides.

The Euphrates yearns for the Nile, but between them lie
The Euphrates longs for the Nile beyond it
The Euphrates yearns for the Nile, yet between them lie,
deserts—yet they told us: 'That is Kawthar.'
While deserts spread, though they told us that was Kauthar
Deserts, though they told us it was a river of Paradise.

Thousands of victims overwhelmed by sinking and harm -
Thousands of victims subjected to humiliation and harm,

By Ghulum, Ruqa', Bakhsh, and Qanbar.

But for him, the communist would not have become a ruler again,
Without you the Communist would not rule again
Were it not for him, the Communist would not have returned to rule,
as he wished, nor would the communist have been slaughtering.
As he desired, nor would the Communist slaughter
As he pleased, or the Communist would be slaughtering.

So you were the answer hoped for in his prayer,

You were for us the light by which we see
And you were for us the light by which we see.

O Army, may you never suffer harm; beneath you is he who,

Descended into depths where seas were gushing
Dragged us to the depths while he prattled on.

With the people's wealth he gave support to the incapable
He bestows the people's wealth, giving it in incompetence,

And from the sickness of injustice that consumed him
From the darkness of the disease that rots within him.

He starved until hunger shattered his body,
and was hunted until he could no longer walk.
And was exiled until he could no longer walk
And was persecuted until he could no longer walk.

So we marched on the path that almost buried us
And we marched upon the path that was nearly lost.
