    May God guard you, O balconies of a house,

    And encircle you as the revolving celestial sphere does.

    For if my grandfather is the pilgrims' Kaaba,

    Then you, my house, are the Kaaba of the needy.

    And if the sacred precinct's shrine is my pride,

    Then you are generosity's shrine, my choice.

    And if my light shines in the land of al-Khayf,

    Then my fire has shone in the guest's land.

    وهذي للصّلاتِ قرار جاري

    And that, for prayer, is the shrine of my glory;

    And this, for gifts, is my neighbor's abode.

    وبيت السمهري به قراري

    And the house of sacrificial offerings is where my grandfather dwells;

    And the house of the sturdy lance is where I dwell.

    ودار للمروءة لا تماري

    And a house of prophethood, beyond dispute;

    And a house of chivalry—do not dispute it.

    So can glory find a way to turn aside from me?

    And is generosity anything but my emblem?
