These are Jilliq's dwellings and landmarks.

Good fortune to you—or are you drowsy and dreaming?

Yes, this is Jilliq, mother of capitals,

and these are the mighty lions of the two Ghoutas.

    Here are the Ya'rubites, whose neighbor is secure;

so none can wrong him in al-Sham's Ghouta.

Here is the fair-faced, blessed band; glory has

features and signs upon their radiant brows.

Here are the valiant Arabs: should an oppressor rise,

they march with spears until the oppressor restores what is right.

Among this people, none but their noble men were wed to

their fair beauties, lovely women of noble birth.

When they proclaim their lineage in glory's assembly, they are borne aloft

to the heights by Qays, Dhuhl, and Darim.

    بغير دليل لا تقوم المزاعم

    Sons of the West, bring a witness when you make your claims;

without evidence, claims do not stand.

Come, let us count the noble champions among us and among you.

For among men is a scholar whose arbitration is accepted.

Have you, to rival Khalid, the sword of God and truth,

an equal contender when the peerless are counted?

And bring Khalid's equals on the morning of boasting,

and let a judge decide between us today.

And bring us the equals of Musa and Tariq,

so we may know which of us the gatherings put to shame.

So do not boast: pride belongs to the Arabs alone.

And to the Arabs belong unassailable heights and noble virtues.

as a child, before amulets were hung upon me.

then nothing matters less than what the reproaching women say.

in delusion, and that one laments, pessimistic.

So tell a weak man who goes begging for mercy:

Take heed: no one among men has mercy on weakness.

And tell the one who shuns his kin despite their closeness:

Take heed: the primary wing-feathers draw strength from the secondary.
