O sons of Lubayna, you are no hand,

save a hand that has no upper arm.

    وَجَدَ الإِلَهُ بِكُم كَما أَجدُ

    O sons of Lubayna, I do not acknowledge you;

may God be angry with you as I am.

O sons of Lubayna, I do not admit

that anyone could be baser than you.

O sons of Lubayna, indeed your mother

is a slave woman, and indeed your father is a slave.

O sons of Lubayna, indeed your mother

suffered a womb prolapse; then the forearm tore her vulva open.

You are driven from the paths of the noble, as

wool-beating rods drive away what adjoins matted wool.

And the tribe's departing women in camel-litters seem like

date palms at Zara, whose fruit is suʿud dates.

What you knew of him betrayed you, just as

Lubad betrayed his friend in their brotherhood.
