By my life—and my life is no small thing to me—

Indeed, the people of al-Namāriq were visited with disgrace at dawn,

At the hands of men who migrated toward their Lord,

Sweeping through them between Durtā and Bāriq.

We killed them between the meadow of Musalliḥ

And al-Hawāfī, along the escorts’ road.
