إِذا خَصمي تَقاضاني بِدَينِ

إِذا خَصمي تَقاضاني بِدَينِ

قَضَيتُ الدَينَ بِالرُمحِ الرُدَيني

قَضَيتُ الدَينَ بِالرُمحِ الرُدَيني

If my adversary demands repayment of a debt,

When my opponents demand a debt from me,

I repay the debt with a Rudayni spear.

I repay the debt with my long, slender spear.

وَحَدُّ السَيفِ يُرضينا جَميعاً

وَحَدُّ السَيفِ يُرضينا جَميعاً

وَيَحكُمُ بَينَكُم عَدلاً وَبَيني

وَيَحكُمُ بَينَكُم عَدلاً وَبَيني

And the sword's edge satisfies us all,

The edge of my sword satisfies us all,

And judges justly between you and me.

And judges fairly between you and me.

جَهِلتُم يا بَني الأَنذالِ قَدري

جَهِلتُم يا بَني الأَنذالِ قَدري

وَقَد عَرَفَتهُ أَهلُ الخافِقينَ

وَقَد عَرَفَتهُ أَهلُ الخافِقينَ

You did not know my worth, you sons of scoundrels,

You ignoble people do not know my worth,

Yet the people of East and West have recognized it.

Though the heroic know it well.

وَما هَدَمَت يَدُ الحِدثانِ رُكني

وَما هَدَمَت يَدُ الحِدثانِ رُكني

وَلا اِمتَدَّت إِلَيَّ بَنانُ حَيني

وَلا اِمتَدَّت إِلَيَّ بَنانُ حَيني

The hand of time's calamities has not shattered my pillar,

No youngster has demolished my pillar,

Nor have the fingers of my doom reached out to me.

Nor has old age reached out to my prime.

عَلَوتُ بِصارِمي وَسِنانِ رُمحي

عَلَوتُ بِصارِمي وَسِنانِ رُمحي

عَلى أُفقِ السُها وَالفَرقَدَينِ

عَلى أُفقِ السُها وَالفَرقَدَينِ

I rose with my keen sword and my spear's point

With my sword and the tips of my spears

Above the horizon of Suha and the two Farqad stars.

I rose above the horizon of Suhā and Farqadayn.

وَغادَرتُ المُبارِزَ وَسطَ قَفرٍ

وَغادَرتُ المُبارِزَ وَسطَ قَفرٍ

يُعَفِّرُ خَدَّهُ وَالعارِضينَ

يُعَفِّرُ خَدَّهُ وَالعارِضينَ

And I left the duelist amid a wasteland,

I left my challenger in the middle of the desert,

Rubbing his cheek and both sides of his face in the dust.

Smudging his cheek and his companions.

وَكَم مِن فارِسٍ أَضحى بِسَيفي

وَكَم مِن فارِسٍ أَضحى بِسَيفي

هَشيمَ الرَأسِ مَخضوبَ اليَدَينِ

هَشيمَ الرَأسِ مَخضوبَ اليَدَينِ

And how many a horseman has my sword left

And how many horsemen by my sword

With his head shattered and both hands stained with blood!

Became severed heads with bloody hands.

يَحومُ عَلَيهِ عِقبانُ المَنايا

يَحومُ عَلَيهِ عِقبانُ المَنايا

وَتَحجُلُ حَولَهُ غِربانُ بَينِ

وَتَحجُلُ حَولَهُ غِربانُ بَينِ

The eagles of death circle over him,

Vultures of death hover above them

And ravens of parting hop around him.

And ravens gather around them.

وَآخَرُ هارِبٌ مِن هَولِ شَخصي

وَآخَرُ هارِبٌ مِن هَولِ شَخصي

وَقَد أَجرى دُموعَ المُقلَتَينِ

وَقَد أَجرى دُموعَ المُقلَتَينِ

And another flees from the terror of my presence,

Another escapes, horrified by my person,

Having already let tears flow from both his eyes.

His tears flowing copiously.

وَسَوفَ أُبيدُ جَمعَكُمُ بِصَبري

وَسَوفَ أُبيدُ جَمعَكُمُ بِصَبري

وَيَطفا لاعِجي وَتَقَرُّ عَيني

وَيَطفا لاعِجي وَتَقَرُّ عَيني

And I shall annihilate your host through my steadfastness,

Soon I will destroy all of you with my patience,

And my inner fire will be quenched, and my eye will find solace.

My banner will be raised and my eye soothed.
