تَعَلَّم أَنَّ حَرّابَ بنَ قَيسٍ

وَجَعداً في دِياركَ مِن هُبالَه

وَجَعداً في دِياركَ مِن هُبالَه

Know that Ḥarrāb son of Qays

Learn that Harrb bin Qais

and Jaʿd are in your lands, from Hubālah.

And Ja'd are in your abodes from Hibalah

أَلا يا حَيَّ ما خَيلٌ بِعَيبٍ

أَلا يا حَيَّ ما خَيلٌ بِعَيبٍ

تُجَوِّلُ في دِيارِكَ مِن إِجالَه

تُجَوِّلُ في دِيارِكَ مِن إِجالَه

Listen, O clan: there is no disgrace in horses

No, O living one, not horses with defect

roaming through your lands from Ijālah.

Roam in your abodes out of generosity
