  1. أَلا مَن مُبلِغٌ عَمرَو بنَ هِندٍ

    فَما رُعِيَت ذَمامَةُ مَن رَعَيتا

    Is there anyone to inform Amr ibn Hind

    That we have not tended well what you tended?

  2. أَتَغصِبُ مالِكاً بِذُنوبِ تَيمٍ

    لَقَد جِئتَ المَحارِمَ وَاِعتَدَيتا

    Do you usurp a wronged man with the sins of Taym

    You have come to violate all that is sacred

  3. فَلَولا نِعمَةٌ لِأَبيكَ فينا

    لَقَد فُضَّتْ قَناتُكَ أَو ثَوَيتا

    Were it not for your father’s favor amongst us

    Your vessels would be emptied or shattered

  4. أَتَنسى رِفدَنا بِعُوَيرِضاتٍ

    غَداةَ الخَيلُ تَخفِرُ ما حَوَيتا

    Have you forgotten how we fed Uwayrid

    When horses neigh over what they carried

  5. وَكُنّا طَوعَ كَفِّكَ يا اِبنَ هِندٍ

    بِنا تَرمي مَحارِمَ مَن رَمَيتا

    We were obedient to your hands, O Ibn Hind

    By us did you shoot your arrows wherever you aimed

  6. سَتَعلَمُ حينَ تَختَلِفُ العَوالي

    مَنَ الحامونَ ثَغرَكَ إِن هَوَيتا

    You will know when enemies differ

    Who defended your mouth if they charge

  7. وَمَن يَغشى الحُروبَ بِمُلهِباتٍ

    تُهَدِّمُ كُلَّ بُنيانٍ بَنَيتا

    And who takes on wars with raging fires

    Destroying every building they erected

  8. إِذا جاءَت لَهُم تِسعونَ أَلفاً

    عَوابِسُهُنَّ وَرداً أَو كُمَيتا

    When ninety thousand came to them

    Grim-faced, attacking or defended
