إِن تَسأَلي تَغلِباً وَإِخوَتَهُم

إِن تَسأَلي تَغلِباً وَإِخوَتَهُم

يُنبوكِ أَنّي مِن خَيرِهِم نَسَبا

يُنبوكِ أَنّي مِن خَيرِهِم نَسَبا

If you ask Taghlib and their brethren,

If you ask Taghlib and his brothers,

They will tell you that I am among their best in lineage.

They will tell you that I am of the best of them in lineage.

أُنمى إِلى الصَيدِ مِن رَبيعَةَ وَالـ

أُنمى إِلى الصَيدِ مِن رَبيعَةَ وَالـ

أَخيارِ مِنهُم إِن حُصِّلوا نَسَبا

أَخيارِ مِنهُم إِن حُصِّلوا نَسَبا

My descent is traced to the proud nobles of Rabi‘ah and the

I belong to the hunters among Rabee'ah and the

Finest among them, if they are judged by lineage.
