Bakarat reproaches me amidst what is lawful

Foolishly, daughter of Thuwayr son of Hilal

Bakarat reproaches me because she saw

My camels as prey for drinking and grazing

Do not blame me, for I am accustomed

To all that my right and left hands contain

If I gain wealth I am not overjoyed

And if I squander it, I do not care

Wealth comes and goes so do not despair

Roll the bridal gift to the lively lawful one

And my soul's surrender on the day of battle

And my being driven beyond my bridal gift and my descent

And my rising with a well-armed Khamis

Towards my enemies, with my weapons and my departure
