When we are slain and no one weeps for us,

Quraysh says, “Behold, those are fate’s decrees.”

And we, in the battle line, when our brows bleed,

are given equal shares of what the bellows refine.

We give equal shares of thrusts that pierce,

yet there is no equality when the dinars are handed out.
