فاتَنا بدرٌ وأُحدٌ

وشهدنا القادسيَّه

وشهدنا القادسيَّه

We missed Badr and Uhud,

The full moon of Ohod has set,

and we took part in al-Qadisiyya.

And we witnessed Al-Qadisiyyah.

فاثبتوا للقوم ضرباً

فاثبتوا للقوم ضرباً

بسيوفٍ حارثيّه

بسيوفٍ حارثيّه

So stand firm against the enemy, striking

So prove to the people a blow

with Harithi swords.

With Harithi swords.

وارشُقوا للقوم رشقاً

وارشُقوا للقوم رشقاً

بسهامٍ فارسيَّه

بسهامٍ فارسيَّه

And shoot a volley at the enemy

And rise for the people at dawn

with Persian arrows.

With Persian arrows.

إِنّما الفضلُ وَرَبِّي

إِنّما الفضلُ وَرَبِّي

بسهامٍ فارسيَّه

بسهامٍ فارسيَّه

The advantage, by my Lord, lies only

By God, the merit is but

in Persian arrows.

With Persian arrows,

إِذ يَرَونَ الطعنَ منّا

إِذ يَرَونَ الطعنَ منّا

برماحٍ داعِصيَّه

برماحٍ داعِصيَّه

When they see our thrusts

When they see the stab from us

with Dāʿiṣī spears,

With straight Dacian spears.

فاحملوا حملاً وشيكاً

فاحملوا حملاً وشيكاً

ثم شيلوا المرهفيَّه

ثم شيلوا المرهفيَّه

then launch a swift charge,

So make a swift raid

then raise the keen-edged blades.

Then take away the lances.

واخطُبوا الحُورَ إِلى اللَه

واخطُبوا الحُورَ إِلى اللَه

بقتال القادسيَّه

بقتال القادسيَّه

And ask God for the fair-eyed maidens in marriage

And seek the fair maidens through God

by fighting at al-Qadisiyya,

By fighting at Al-Qadisiyyah

كي تنالوا الفَوزَ قِدماً

كي تنالوا الفَوزَ قِدماً

في غُدُوٍّ وَعَشِيَّه

في غُدُوٍّ وَعَشِيَّه

so that you may attain triumph ahead of others,

That you may gain victory ahead

in the morning and evening.
