I would surely have led إِلىto هَمدانَHamdan جيشاًan army عَرمرَماvast
By your life, were it not for Ajdaʿ the Good—know this—
By your life, if I were not the doer of good, know that
I would surely have led a vast army to Hamdan.
I would have led a mighty, clamorous army against Hamdan
I would surely have led إِلىto هَمدانَHamdan أَلفَa thousand طِمِرَّةٍswift mares

I would surely have led a thousand swift mares to Hamdan,
I would have led against Hamdan a thousand spears
And a thousand swift stallions, bay and black.
And a thousand spearmen of Kumayt and Adham
