وما تنفك من سعد إلينا

قطوع الرحم فارية الأديم

قطوع الرحم فارية الأديم

And from Sa'd there comes to us unceasingly

You never cease to bring us joy,

What severs kinship and rends the skin.

Though they severed ties and turned away.

فنغفرها كأن لم يفعلوها

فنغفرها كأن لم يفعلوها

وطول العفو أدرب للظلوم

وطول العفو أدرب للظلوم

So we forgive it, as though they had not done it,

We forgive them as though they'd done no wrong,

And prolonged pardon further trains the wrongdoer.

For gracious pardon tames the tyrant's sway.
