فمنكِ البُكاءُ ومنكِ العَويلُ

فمنكِ البُكاءُ ومنكِ العَويلُ

ومنكِ الرياحُ ومنكِ المَطَر

ومنكِ الرياحُ ومنكِ المَطَر

From you come the weeping, and from you the wailing;

So from you comes the weeping, and from you the wailing.

From you come the winds, and from you the rain.

And from you come the winds, and from you the rain.

وأنتِ أمرتِ بقتلِ الإمامِ

وأنتِ أمرتِ بقتلِ الإمامِ

وقاتلُهُ عندنا من أمَر

وقاتلُهُ عندنا من أمَر

You commanded that the Imam be killed—

And you ordered the killing of the Imam.

and in our eyes, his killer is the one who gave the command.

And his killer, in our view, is the one who gave the order.
