O Lord, loosen the grip upon my throat,

I have humbled myself before Him who

raised seven heavens, tier on tier;
raised seven heavens in tiers,
ومنand Him who إذاwhen شاءHe wills أطفاextinguishes
ومن إذا شاء أطفا
بالعفوthrough pardon نارthe fire احتراقيmy burning
بالعفو نار احتراقي
and who, if He wills, can quench
and who, when He wills, extinguishes
with pardon the fire of my burning.

توكليmy reliance واعتلاقيand my clinging

He is my Lord on the morrow, and on Him rest

my trust and my heart’s attachment.
I rely, and to Him I cling.
ياO كاشفاًremover of كلevery غمgrief
يا كاشفاً كل غم
يرقىrises فويقjust above التراقيthe collarbones
يرقى فويق التراقي
O Dispeller of every grief
O remover of every grief
that climbs above the collarbones,
that rises just above the collarbones,
عجلhasten بتفريجby relieving هميmy distress
عجل بتفريج همي
وكشفهand dispelling it بالتلاقيthrough reunion
وكشفه بالتلاقي
hasten to relieve my sorrow
hasten to relieve my distress
and remove it through reunion.
