Nothing kept me from you but a bout of stomach illness that arose.

So it weakened everything except my conviction (reading an apparent typo).

So all other things are insignificant to me.

فلا خلت منك عين أنت ناظرها

So may an eye whose pupil you are never be without you.

My eyes that look upon you find no distraction,

For you are my help against the days—indeed, my support.

You give me strength against time, indeed you are my pillar.

وعلم حالك روحي إن كتبت به

فامنن بروحي ولا تحبسه عن جسدي

فامنن بروحي ولا تحبسه عن جسدي

And news of your condition is my soul, if you write of it.

My soul knows your condition when I write with it,

So grant me my soul, and do not withhold it from my body.

So be kind to my soul, do not withhold it from my body.

فقد غنيت ولم أحتج إلى أحد

You have made me forget all people, without exception.

You distracted me from all people entirely,

So I have all I need, and have needed no one.

So I became self-sufficient, needing no one.
