My writings to you accord with what befalls

Like events themselves, neither clear nor murky.

Like events, neither pure nor fair at all

فاصفح بفضلك عنها في تصفحها

فما تروقك لا ملقاً ولا ملقا

So, in your grace, forgive their faults as you peruse them;

So please overlook them in your perusal

For they do not charm you through flattery or fawning.

What does not please you merits no recall
