    ي ظل محترم الفناء مبجل

    God be praised for such a radiant, splendid day,

    [In] the shade of one whose courtyard is revered, himself honored;

    And a joy that Time has generously granted us

    In the house of a beaming wellspring of bounty—

    You built within it glorious viewing pavilions,

    Now finer than the building of al-Afdal.

    And the proof of your pride is that what you built

    Stands higher, while his building lies below.

    "How many a successor has diminished a predecessor's rank!"

    So rejoice in the days of delight and their sweetness,

    And greet the world with approaching good fortune.

    Vied with you, O sea of generosity, with a rivulet.

    [Sent] the canal to present its excuse,

    And it bore the humility of one submissive and abased.

    A veil of acceptance for the obstinate, and accept the plea.

    غوث الورى وغياث كل مؤمل

    Of its limbs by the sharp point of a crooked fang;

    In its cloud of anguish, which would not lift.

    The fire of guidance in the gloom of a pitch-dark night.

    "Indeed, the pure Prophet explicitly designated Ali."

    O house of Ruzzik—this is the call of a sincere adviser,

    Who was not unaware of the kindness you bestowed.

    As long as Yadhbul's rocky height stands above the earth.
